1Red booths under the teal cartoon walls

Pull up a booth

Bud and Lisa Casey run the cafe, and they have been serving Moberly for over 23 years. Breakfast and lunch, booths deep in cartoons, done by 2 PM.

2The Mystery Machine and the Scooby-Doo gang painted on the wall

Every wall is a page

Scooby rides the back wall. Betty Boop has her own corner. Taz measures the kids at the door. Every mural is painted by hand, right over the booths.

3Vintage cartoon cookie jars and figures on the shelves

The collection

Decades of lunchboxes, cookie jars and figures fill the shelves, the same ones guests remember from their own kitchens growing up.

4The Alley Oop breakfast plate

Plates named like strips

The Alley Oop. The Barney. The Junk Yard Boss. The Moby Dick. The menu reads like the Sunday comics, and the plates eat like a diner should.

5The weekly specials whiteboard at the counter

Up at 5:30

Homemade bread, hand-pattied Wimpy Burgers, a bakery case filled fresh. Doors open 5:30 AM Monday through Saturday, 7:30 on Sunday, gone by 2.

6Funny Pages Cafe seen from North Morley Street

The Magic City

Moberly sprang up around the railroad in 1866, so fast they called it the Magic City. Old Highway 63 runs right past the front door at 1714 N Morley St.

From a Google review

“A place to get your soul back.”

David S. wrote that about a Saturday morning here: the cartoons on the walls, the oldies playing, regulars called by name. It is the review the Caseys are proudest of.
